Terms Of Business
Client Responsibilities:
The Client agrees to provide keys, or key safe code for Dougie & Friends Dog Walking Services, in order to carry out the agreed service(s).
Whilst every effort will be made to contact the Client in the event of an emergency, the Client authorises Dougie & Friends to seek the advice and to act upon the recommendations of the Client designated Veterinary Practitioner, or in the absence of their availability, an alternative approved Veterinary Practitioner.
The Client agrees to reimburse and compensate Dougie & Friends for any additional fees and expenses incurred from unexpected visits, transportation, housing, food or supplies.
The Client accepts full liability and agrees to cover and hold harmless, Dougie & Friends, in the event of the following: -
• A claim by any person(s) or their animal(s) injured by the Client Pet
• Any loss or damage caused by the Pet whilst under the care of representatives of Dougie & Friends
• Any medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to the Pet sitter, or other persons by the Pet.
• All veterinary costs incurred as a result of treatment carried out on the Client Pet(s)
The Client agrees to immediately notify Dougie & Friends of any changes to their Pet(s) circumstances (e.g., medical, behaviour, housing etc.), in order that the necessary care and attention can be taken.
If permission has been given for the Pet to be walked off lead, the Client gives permission for Dougie & Friends to do this in a secure environment, where no considered or known threats to the Pet(s) safety are present. Dougie & Friends will not be liable for any incidents or accidents that occur while the Pet(s) are off lead.
Dougie & Friends Dog Walking Services Responsibilites
Dougie & Friends agrees to provide the services stated in this agreement in a reliable, kind and trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services and as an express condition thereof, the Client specifically waives and relinquishes all claims against Dougie & Friends except those occurring from the negligence of the Pet walker.
Dougie & Friends accepts no responsibility for security of the premises or loss if other individuals have access to the home during the term of this agreement. During all assignments, Dog walking will only be carried out by Dougie & Friends owner or employees, unless prearranged with the client.
Dougie & Friends accepts no responsibility for damages to the property if other people have access to the property.
Dougie & Friends will not let any Pet off his/her lead unless the owner has given written consent.
If unforeseen circumstances occur when Dougie & Friends cannot attend to your Pet needs due to illness etc, you will be notified straight away.
Dougie & Friends is not responsible for damage sustained by a Pet escaping because of a faulty lead/collar or a collar that is not properly fitted.
Dougie & Friends will not be liable for the injury, disappearance, death, or fines of any Pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors.
Dougie & Friends shall not be held responsible for any damage to the Client’s property, or that of others, caused by the Client’s Pet(s) during the period in which they are in its care.
Dougie & Friends operate a zero policy for abusive language or behavior and reserves the right to terminate the agreement with immediate effect if made to feel uncomfortable.
Bookings, Cancellations and Late Payments
Full payment is to be made no later than the Sunday before the new week starts. If payment is not made, Dougie & Friends will be cancelling the service and will be offered to somebody else.
Cancellations - should cancellations take place up to 48 hours prior to the commencement of the service, Dougie & Friends reserve the right to apply a 100% charge.
Late payment - A late payment fee of £5.00 will be charged if payment is not made within 3 days of the invoice being sent.
Heat – where the temperature exceeds 23 degrees, it is recommended that walks are shortened or potentially cancelled and changed to a house visit. In these circumstances, Dougie & Friends will liaise with the Client to establish their preferred course of action.
Wind, Rain, Adverse Weather Conditions – Walks will be maintained as usual unless there are severe and adverse weather conditions that would put the care and safety of the Pet(s) at risk. Dougie & Friends will liaise with Client’s in these circumstances to agree preferred course of action, such as changing to a house visit.
At least 14 days’ notice will be given for any holiday that may affect the service given to Client’s, unless due to unforeseen circumstances such as sickness or emergencies.
Services / Prices
1 Hour Dog Walking/Socialisation Solo £20.00
1 Hour Dog Walking/Socialisation Group £14.00
Home Visit 30 minutes £14.00.
Dougie & Friends is open Monday - Friday, and closed on weekends with the exception of adventure days.
Termination:
The provision of services by Dougie & Friends can be terminated with 1 week’s notice by either party, or where otherwise agreed in writing. Where information provided by the Client is found to be inaccurate or misleading, Dougie & Friends reserves the right to terminate the agreement with immediate effect. The Client accepts liability for any fees incurred up to and including the last day of termination of the agreement.
